Trust & Authenticity at ZicoArt
At ZicoArt, we understand that trust and authenticity are fundamental when collecting art. That’s why we are committed to ensuring complete confidence in every artwork you acquire and total transparency in the artists featured on our platform.

Artist Verification & Authentication

To maintain the integrity of our marketplace, all artists undergo a careful verification process before being featured. This includes:

  • Thorough background checks for every artist submission.
  • Mandatory detailed artist biographies to provide insight into their background and practice.
  • Personal artist statements that communicate creative vision, intent, and artistic philosophy.

This process ensures that collectors can confidently engage with authentic artists and original creative voices.

Certificate of Authenticity (CoA)

Every artwork purchased through ZicoArt is accompanied by an official, signed Certificate of Authenticity (CoA), ensuring legitimacy and provenance.

  • Original Artworks: The CoA is signed by the artist or the representing gallery/studio, certifying the artwork as a genuine, one-of-a-kind creation.
  • Limited Edition Prints: The CoA confirms the edition number (e.g., 5/50), print medium, and includes the artist’s signature, and when applicable, hand-numbering.

This certification provides buyers with confidence in both authenticity and long-term value.

Detailed Artwork Documentation

In addition to the Certificate of Authenticity, artists are required to provide comprehensive documentation for each artwork, including:

  • Artwork Specifications: Artwork title, high-resolution images, medium and materials (e.g., acrylic on canvas, charcoal on paper), dimensions, and creation date.
  • Artwork Story: A brief narrative outlining the inspiration, mood, concept, or series the artwork belongs to.

This level of detail allows collectors to fully understand the context, craftsmanship, and meaning behind each piece.

Understanding Artwork Types
To help collectors make informed decisions, ZicoArt distinguishes between different types of artworks based on originality, exclusivity, and long-term value.

Original Artwork

An original artwork is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece created entirely by the artist’s hand.

  • Features visible and tactile physical textures that cannot be replicated.
  • Represents the highest level of artistic prestige and investment potential.
  • Ownership is exclusive—no other collector in the world owns the same piece.

Limited Edition Print

Limited edition prints are high-quality reproductions of an original artwork, produced in a fixed and predetermined quantity.

  • Each edition is capped (e.g., 10/50), and no additional prints may be produced in the same format once sold out.
  • Every print is hand-numbered and typically hand-signed by the artist in pencil.
  • Offers a balance between exclusivity and accessibility for collectors.
  • Because the supply is limited, these prints can appreciate in value over time.

Open Edition Print (Not Supported by ZicoArt)

Open edition prints are reproductions that can be produced in unlimited quantities.

  • They generally do not carry long-term collector or investment value.
  • Typically not hand-signed or numbered by the artist.
  • If a signature is present, it is usually a digital reproduction printed as part of the image.

For this reason, ZicoArt exclusively supports original artworks and limited edition prints to preserve authenticity, value, and collector confidence.

As ZicoArt platform is using Stripe, we accept a vast range of card payment from the Major Networks (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, and JCB.) and Local Networks (Cartes Bancaires (France), UnionPay (China), and eftpos (Australia)). Stripe supports over 135 currencies and so many other payment methods.
ZicoArt uses Stripe for payment processing to ensure the highest level of security and service. Stripe is a PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent certification available in the payments industry.
At ZicoArt, we strive for customer satisfaction. However, given the unique nature of artworks and their subjective value, all sales made through our platform are generally considered final.
In exceptional cases where an artwork is received in a damaged condition, buyers must report the issue to ZicoArt within a stipulated time frame from the date of delivery. Upon verification and in accordance with our policies, we may facilitate a partial refund. Any refunds are subject to our review and approval.

You Retain 100% Ownership

First and foremost: you own your art.

  • No Rights Grabs: Our Terms of Service clearly state that artists retain full copyright ownership of their work. By listing on ZicoArt, you grant only a limited license to display your artwork for marketing and sales purposes.

Authenticity & Transparency

To maintain trust within our community, artists are required to provide accurate and honest information about each artwork.

  • Clear disclosure of how the artwork was created, including whether it is an original or a reproduction.
  • For original works or reproductions, artists must provide proof of authenticity, such as a signed Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) or documented provenance.

This transparency protects both artists and collectors.

Legal Transparency & Buyer Protection

Every purchase on ZicoArt is governed by clear legal terms.

  • Buyers must agree to our Buyer Terms, which explicitly prohibit claiming authorship or intellectual ownership of the artwork.
